When we talk about AI coding agents, most tools are great at “fill in this function” and pretty weak at “is this system actually well-designed?”. Most coding agents are optimized for “write code for this function”. That’s useful, but it leaves a gap at the level where the highest‑impact decisions are made: system boundaries, architecture trade-offs, integration risks, and “should we even build this?”. I’ve been working on a small but opinionated project: Meta-Architect, a set of Codex skills aimed at architecture, system design, and “should we actually build this?” questions. Is this architecture sane? Where are the weak boundaries? What are the trade-offs if we change X vs Y? Meta-Architect ships as a Codex skills bundle, not a separate CLI. Once installed, you stay in your existing Codex workflow and call dedicated skills for: - understanding your current system - exploring alternative designs - identifying risks and edge cases - turning vague requirements into clearer plans The v0.1.6 release focuses on making this practical: - clean package identity (@jstn-sdk/ma) - consistent install/uninstall + usage docs - skills centered on in-session Codex usage - packaging and tests wired so npm installs behave like running from source If you’re working with agents, complex systems, or multi-service architectures and want more structure than “chat + hope for the best”, I’d love your feedback.

Meta-Architect v0.1.12 gives normal users a practical workflow layer on top of Codex, not

just a set of prompts.

The biggest improvement is $maestro. It now works as the single umbrella entrypoint for

the package and can help manage the next safe step in the workflow instead of only acting

like a passive router. A user can start with $maestro and move through a structured path

for architecture, tool selection, logic review, security review, DX/UX review, and build

readiness.

What users can effectively do now:

- start from one clear surface: $maestro

- run a full gated workflow: $arch -> $sage -> $flow -> $vet -> $vibe -> $build

- use helper skills when blocked:

- $align for scope and wording clarity

- $diagnose for root-cause and failure triage

- $tdd for test-first or regression-first work

- $cleanup for simplification and final polish

- use terminal helpers like ma setup, ma init, ma status, and ma run '$arch'

- install through npm or Linux-native packages

- rely on built-in packaged references and playbooks instead of ad hoc guidance

What that means in plain terms:

- better planning before coding

- clearer next steps

- safer reviews before build/release

- easier recovery when work is blocked

- more repeatable project workflow inside Codex

What it is not:

- not a standalone replacement for Codex

- not a general-purpose autonomous agent platform outside the Codex workflow

- not a free-form multi-agent runtime for everything
