@EAWharton@eriktorenberg Collective wisdom does not always mean regression to the mean or optimizing for the local maxima, the key point is the discover of previously private information to everyone
What looks like regression to the mean in these kinds of 'thought marketplaces' can actually be the crowd instigating some action by the ultimate participants -- the tail wagging the dog. I think Product Hunt might have that effect sometimes (eg. people are floating very basic MVPs here as a form of early market feedback)
