I've been working with Mendix for 11+ years and this allows me to develop apps at the speed of ideas. The flexibility of the platform allows me to create any application I can think of. The platform evolves quickly to respond on changes in the world and is therefore always ready for tomorrow. The visual aspect of software development allows for fantastic insights in the inner workings of the software and makes sure the created apps are always prepared for change which is a necessity in an ever changing world!

While Mendix is great to enable software development within your organization for a greater group of people. Mendix also gives developers the tool to develop quickly. The model is always validated on technical errors. So you are less busy with technical issues and more on functional challenges.

With Mendix the barrier to entry into the application development space becomes merely a stepping stone. For beginners the online studio allows for page design and basic logic in minutes. For experienced folks the cloud native foundation and open extensibility allows you to build complex mission critical applications. Imagine combining the two allowing web savvy business people to design their own interfaces while maintaining corporate governance. I think the furthered commitment to providing the best in class platform really shines with the last couple of major releases.

With Mendix, you really can get initial development and ongoing maintenance speedups of up to 10 times as compared with traditional third-generation programming language stacks and frameworks. It does this through visual methods to complete everyday tasks while giving you options for delving into lower layers should you need to. For most business applications, Mendix is a great fit. If you have highly customized use cases that Mendix doesn't provide accelerators for then, it won't give you speedups yet. Still, it's improving all the time with funding from a merger with Siemens and an expanding customer base giving feedback. It's a high productivity, general-purpose, low-code platform as a service. We use it more and more all the time.

Mendix is a great product to speed up and get business ideas realized faster with easy to use tools. The fact that its foundation is model driven development, makes it easy to embrace a certain thinking to speed up the development process. To make sure the Mendix platform can exist in your eco-system as well, it is highly extensible and can be applied in almost every situation where applications are developed.
