Mendix is the low-code platform of choice for us and many more Mendix Makers around the world. Developed from web application framework to a platform that supports multiple devices and is becoming also the first choice for Mobile development. We're using Mendix for 13 years now in production and it gave us incredible development speed and also a lower barrier to entry for new developers in our company. Imagine you have no IT background, but with the visual and low-code manner you're still able to build web and mobile applications that support your business processes. Learning Mendix is easier than learning programming for most people. Before we've struggled with code generators and platforms that supported us one level, but with Mendix there is a mature and enterprise ready alternative that support the full lifecycle of application development and maintenance. Nice addition to this is that the growth of the platform is not slowing down, last 2 years the number of new features and supported scenarios is fastly increasing. I'll stick to Mendix for the next decade. Maybe a small feedback point and advise from me: the native reporting and document generation features and capabilities could get more attention for the future roadmap. Right now there are some alternatives in the Mendix Marketplace and community content that helps.

A really nice product that enables you to build anything you want within very short notice. It's so versatile and flexible already from the start, but even when you want to add your own logic and UI-components: it's very crafty to extend as well. In my 3 years experience of developing applications for several different business, I did not bump into a single limitation or issue that the Mendix solution couldn't solve.

I've been working using the Mendix platform for the past 5 years. It's something I started using as a temporary solution, but ended up using full time. The platform uses UML like diagrams to allow developers to quickly build powerful applications. These diagrams make it easy to talk through what is happening with non developers and really helps aid understanding of what is being built. This in turn helps ensure what is being built is what the customer really wants. The platform makes it really easy to talk to existing services either through APIs or by dropping down to lower level code integrations. The marketplace allows developers to share and use solutions, speeding development further. It's worth taking a day to evaluate the platform, and actually build something simple. It's surprisingly easy.

Really impressed by the facility to deploy apps and gather feedback within the same environment.

Pros:

Fully integrated low-code web application creation with product management.

Cons:

Like with all low-code web application, you have limited customisation possibilities.

I've been working with Mendix since 2012 and have seen it evolve over the years to the product it has become today! I really love the easiness of being able to build the right thing for my clients. Since the visual approach of software development it makes it a lot easier to align with your client and explain to them what you are building! With Mendix you are building the first time right!
