Magellan is a free, open-source Chrome extension that lets you chat with any webpage. Ask questions, get AI-powered answers, and see smart citations and highlights - right in your browser. Search modes include page-context only, blended, or general knowledge.

We built Magellan because we were tired of skimming endless pages and hitting Ctrl+F over and over. We wanted a way to just ask questions about any webpage and get answers instantly - so we built this Chrome extension.
What makes Magellan unique is that while other extensions summarize webpages, Magellan goes further - it not only answers your questions, but also cites the exact part of the page and highlights it directly. It’s super useful when you need to verify sources, dig into details, or just want to see where the answer came from.
What’s also cool is that if the page doesn’t have the answer you’re looking for, you can switch to general knowledge mode to dive deeper and get broader insights - without ever leaving the page.
We’re proud that this is our first open-source project. It’s completely free, with no tracking or paywalls, and everything runs directly in the client. If you’re curious, the code’s up on GitHub and we’d love feedback, bug reports, or contributions.
