Hey PH community! I am launching LUX Video Player tomorrow.
I built it natively in Swift as a solo dev because I was so tired of transferring MKV files to my iPhone just to get a "format not supported" error, or dealing with the bloated UIs of the current alternatives. LUX handles heavy formats instantly and streams directly from your Mac, PC, Plex, or SMB servers.
While we wait for the launch clock to hit midnight, I d love to hear from you: What is the most annoying thing about your current setup for watching local media on your phone? Let me know so I can keep making LUX better!
Pinch-to-resize subtitles are a game changer for me, and it handled a 20gb MKV from my Plex server without a single stutter. Finally a player that just gets it.
@bavcichali87886 Thank you so much! Hearing that a 20GB Plex stream played perfectly is exactly why I built LUX. I wanted to eliminate the "format not supported" headache completely without the need for bloated workarounds.
I'm also thrilled that the pinch-to-resize subtitles are hitting the mark for you! Knowing what specific features resonate with you is incredibly helpful. I'm actually working on a major core update right now that will bring even more subtitle customization (like custom styling and casting support).
Thanks for taking the time to test it out with your heavy files—I really appreciate the support!
