Hey PH community! I am launching LUX Video Player tomorrow.
I built it natively in Swift as a solo dev because I was so tired of transferring MKV files to my iPhone just to get a "format not supported" error, or dealing with the bloated UIs of the current alternatives. LUX handles heavy formats instantly and streams directly from your Mac, PC, Plex, or SMB servers.
While we wait for the launch clock to hit midnight, I d love to hear from you: What is the most annoying thing about your current setup for watching local media on your phone? Let me know so I can keep making LUX better!
An elegant, native iOS video player designed to handle heavy media files beautifully. Natively plays MKV, MP4, AVI, and WebM without annoying conversions. Connects seamlessly to your Mac, PC, Plex, Jellyfin, or SMB servers to stream over Wi-Fi without taking up your iPhone storage. Features interactive subtitles—just pinch to resize or drag to reposition—plus true picture-in-picture, background audio, and lip-sync audio correction. Clean, powerful.
