What do you think? …

Artem Adams
Hey there πŸ‘‹, I'm Artem and the creator of my first independent app on the App Store. It started as a standalone app for the Apple Watch because I think nowadays, knowledge should be anywhere where you are, even on your wrist. Think of it as "wearable education". Immersion is key to succeed in language learning. Now with iOS 14 I decided to extend Kanji Time to all Apple platforms, while expanding this premise. ⌚️ πŸ“± πŸ’» -Widgets and Complications: repeat words and kanji at glance of your watch or home screen -Fully automatic sync across devices through iCloud -Smart notifications taking your progress into consideration -Ultra fast UI and 2000+ kanji animations, 0 third party dependencies, just 25MB -Smart Repetition System: automatically adjustment word frequency And very important as well: -No registration, no email, no tracking, no ads It is made accessible for all kinds of difficulty levels has more than 10000 words to fit different learning styles. Oh, and for beginner levels it's completely free. If Japanese is not your cup of sencha, I plan to provide other languages with this framework. Therefore any feedback is highly welcome and will help to shape the future of Kanji Time. Let's discuss in the comments!

This looks fantastic, impressed at the Apple ecosystem integration(iCloud sync, widgets) and the lack of registration/email/tracking/ads too. It’s not an app I’d use at the moment, but I’d like to put in a request for Mandarin Chinese support alongside the Pinyin & English definition if at all possible in future
Artem Adams
@iamsebj Yes the integration into the Apple ecosystem is something that works very well. I am surprised that there are still not a lot of companies embracing it. The users can really benefit from these things. Thank you for your feedback, I am considering Mandarin Chinese for future languages as well!
Seb Jachec
@artemadams Great :) Do you mind if I ask – are you currently actively learning Japanese? How’ve you found the learning process if so?
Artem Adams
@artemadams @iamsebj Actually I started, already more than 5 years ago. I am confident to make different conversations, but especially in business contexts there are so many caveats on how respectful language works. So this is an area where you can't learn enough, and need hands-on practice, which is obviously not easy to get. Right now it is more about keeping and sustaining this level in the long run, so mostly repeating or reading native materials. Language exchange is also great. With something like Japanese, (or Chinese in your case?) where you have a different set of characters on top, I think passive learning e.g. the widget feature, is also quite helpful.

Love this, studying Japanese now and I'm going to download this app and check it out.
Artem Adams
@gabe__perez Thank you for downloading! I hope you will enjoy using it, let me know if you have some feedback 🀩

This looks amazing, that will be my new Japanese app for sure ! Do you made this app alone? :o I also would like to know if you plan to make an Android version?
Artem Adams
@dylandeoliveira Thank you, really appreciate that you like the design! Yes I made it entirely on my own. I actually started to play with the idea last year, as a stand-alone app for the Apple Watch. Over the course of this year I finally found the time to implement it. It is completely native to Apple technologies so a port would take some time. It's not out of the question, and certainly doable if there is enough demand. πŸ˜ƒ
