I tried Habitica and it felt like a to-do list wearing a costume, so I built the opposite. In Levelite, the game comes first: real JRPG combat, a 100-floor tower to climb, guilds, a full seasonal story. The catch is you can only progress by doing your actual habits and tasks. Getting hooked on the game means getting hooked on being productive. Built solo over the last year and a half, and it's finally taking off. Try it with an open mind.
Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I'm Izumi, solo dev behind Levelite. About a year and a half ago I was going through a pretty rough depression, and being someone who's always been hooked on video games, I figured maybe that could be part of the solution instead of the distraction it usually was.
I tried Habitica first, but it felt like a to-do list wearing a costume, the game part was thin and I never actually wanted to open it. So I built Levelite doing the opposite: the game comes first. Real JRPG-style combat, a 100-floor tower you climb, guilds, a full seasonal story. The only way to progress is by actually doing your real tasks and habits, so getting hooked on the game means getting hooked on being productive.
I've been building this completely solo for the last year and a half, adding content and refining things based on feedback, and it's finally starting to click. Would love for you to try it out with an open mind, and I'm here all day to answer any questions about the app or the process of building it.
