Hi everyone! I’m Alvaro, the founder of Kommonly. Kommonly started from a simple question my family and I kept asking ourselves: “How do we find families like ours?” Like many families, we’ve experienced what it’s like to start over in a new place. Each time, we realized that meeting people wasn’t the hard part—it was finding families we genuinely connected with. Families with children around the same age. Similar interests. A shared season of life. The kind of families you can imagine doing life with. We tried Facebook groups, local events, and other ways of meeting people. While each had its place, none were really designed to help families build meaningful, lasting friendships. So I decided to build Kommonly. Our goal isn’t to create another social network. It’s to make it easier for families to discover one another, build real connections, and create the kind of community we all hope our children grow up surrounded by. This is our first public beta, and we’re just getting started. Many of the features and improvements ahead will be shaped by the families who join us early.
