The simplest way I can describe Knowly:
Karpathy’s LLM Wiki + NotebookLM — combined into one closed-loop, proactive AI.

🧠 LLM WIKI — Karpathy’s recent idea for using LLMs to build a personal wiki from everything you save. Your saved sources can be transformed to real knowledge assets.
It's a brilliant idea. But you have to set up the whole thing yourself — pick the right tools, build complex RAG, connect everything, design the architecture and wire them up with proper AI Agents etc.
It’s too complex and difficult to do them all correct by ourselves.
📖 NotebookLM — probably one of the best implementations of “Using AI to understand things.”
But still, you need to manually do a lot of things, sorting sources, create notebooks by hands, do various organization, and also always think of the right prompt first to get the answer you want.
This is hard. When you don’t know what you don’t know, how are you supposed to come up with the perfect question ?
And always be the proactive one is kind of tired.
