We use Kato at PIE and love it. While it's not quite as polished as other chat clients, there are features (like the "Tweetdeck-esque" views and search) that I now can't live without.
Plus, we've been super impressed with the team and their ability to put up with our support and feature requests. All within Kato.
@ethanbeute main difference is you have multiple chat panes open at once, you can talk in multiple organizations at once, and noise management/room membership is quite different (see https://kato.im/blog/introducing...)
