Junto Meetups

I built Junto Meetups because I’ve been in that spot too many times — new city, don’t know anyone, wishing there was a simple way to find people to hang out with that same day. Most apps are either for dating, feel way too formal, or have events planned weeks in advance that never actually happen. I wanted something lightweight, spontaneous, and fun. What makes Junto different is that all meetups have to happen today, tomorrow, or in 2 days. No endless planning that dies in group chats. You can host something in seconds (coffee, yoga, coworking, rooftop cocktails, whatever you’re into) or join someone else’s. To join, you send a quick intro, the host approves you, and then you’re in a small group chat with the people going. Hosts can also make events gender-specific for more comfort and safety, which I think is really important. I’m most proud of how simple and real it feels. You don’t need to scroll endlessly or swipe forever — just see what’s happening near you, or throw out your own plan. The first time I used it myself while traveling, I ended up at dinner with total strangers who became friends. That’s exactly what I wanted to create: turning free time into shared time.
