Gmail storage upsells were driving me nuts. When my Dad asked for help cleaning his inbox, I went looking for tools… and didn’t love the options:
• Pay more than the cost of storage
• Trade away your data
• Manually clean things up with clunky tools
What I wanted was simple: a free & easy way to identify emails I don’t need anymore that make a meaningful dent in storage.
So I built something that clusters and sorts emails based on two things:
1 - How unlikely they are to be needed
2 - How much space they take up
That alone helped, but the breakthrough was noticing threads where the same large attachment gets sent back and forth. You can remove the intermediary emails and still keep all the information. That became Inboxtini’s thread compression.
I also wanted something I could confidently recommend to family, so privacy mattered. It uses OAuth, stores no data by default, and passed CASA Tier 2 review.
Also, I had to have a little fun with the name. :)
