We get TONS on transactional email unrelated to support. Can we filter it out of the calculations? We've been using Gmail meter for a long time and this is our biggest gripe. Makes all the stats useless.

@gerbz Hey Greg! Yes, in fact while testing we realised Promotional mail and updates make up for almost 45% of all inboxes! When calculating metrics, while we do show you the total count of emails your inbox has gotten, we intelligently REMOVE all the social and promotional email you receive in the following metrics. We also try to ascertain which contacts are more important to you by figuring out who you've replied to. (Check out the "Top Contacts" section of the report) By the way, since you get a lot of email, how heavily do you use Labels?

@jumbld sweet - we use lables heavily. If I could say "ignore this lable from my calculations" it would resolve everything. Most lables are applied by an ever growing list of filters.

@yam_regev :) Fair question. Unfortunately GMAIL hasn't made available yet, a granular IMAP API access that can allow just "READ-ONLY" of the email headers (i.e. from/to/timestamp). Hence we had to resort to this full access permissions of your inbox. This is common with most popular gmail add-ons like boomerang/streak etc. Just to give you more context, as stated in our terms & privacy policy, we take data privacy & security very seriously. We can legally only read email headers (from, to, timestamp) which is needed to generate the metrics. We don't read subject or body of the email. We don't even store the from/to/timestamp as is. We only store your computed metrics so that we can send it over email & show you trends of how your metrics are improving over time. I hope the insights & the value it will provide over time, will make up for the extra permission.

Will be great when the capability to filter messages based on labels is built. Nice product.

Pros:

Pretty useful metrics and nice graphics

Cons:

Considering the product is in beta, not much I can think of

The report generated was wonderful, wish we had an option to choose which year's insight you want.

Love to check and compare my own progress for the past years.

@pavankumarpn Hey Pavan. We do not have email tracking on this yet. We have Freshsales (https://www.freshworks.com/fresh...) for email tracking and campaigns. It also integrates with Freshchat. 🙂 Do give it a try.
