Came across this on Product Hunt, interesting concept but I’m curious, does relying on AI to remember important details take away the personal touch in relationships, maybe some people prefer a more organic approach.
@brandrewire22 Think of it as like a personal trainer for your relationship, relying on a gym membership helps you get fit, relying on a therapist or a doctor helps you get healthy... it's not about removing the personal touch, Stoke helps you learn how to be a better partner... and once you have used stoke to remember things a few times, you start remembering organically...
our aim isn't for stoke to become a crutch, it's for stoke to create habits that you then carry on for a lifetime...

Found this app while scrolling through ads, honestly it's kind of weird to think you need a digital assistant to remind you about your partner’s needs, like isn't that the basic part of being in a relationship, feels more like a band-aid for communication issues than a real solution, what happened to just paying attention and being present

@datamaverick hey Christopher. We agree that the basic stuff is everyone's responsibility. Over time, however, there's a lot of stuff that builds up. True story: as I was getting ready to launch this I went to my parents house and they were having a dinner party. 6 couples in their 70's and 80's. A great chance to see what sticks and what doesn't. You'd be surprised after 20, 30, 40 years of marriage how much you both remember and forget.

I get the idea of keeping relationships exciting but do we really need a digital assistant for that, isn't part of the charm of relationships the effort we put into knowing our partners by ourselves, maybe less automation and more human touch will work better thoughts on maybe adding features that promote actual conversations instead of reminders

@creativescribe totally agree! You don't date through the Stoke app, but you might find something unique and interesting to do in your local town that your partner would love. You might find a product or experience that wouldn't otherwise be on your radar. You might find a recipe that brings your partner's three favorite foods together in a way you've never even considered.
You're still planning the date, executing, cooking the meal, etc. Stoke is just acting as your think tank when you need it.

Found it through an ad and honestly, this whole tracking and timely reminder thing feels a bit invasive and unnatural like are we so busy or careless that we need a digital assistant to tell us how to care for our partners it could be helpful sure but feels like it might take away the spontaneous side of relationships

@winegateceo thanks Hubert! That's totally fair to have that opinion. We feel that when people start using the app, they don't see it as invasive or unnatural. Rather, it's a spark of ideas, even if you don't do exactly what Stoke recommends.
For example, I just asked it to plan a DIY craft night together. And based on my partner's preferences, it came up with three pretty cool ideas that honestly I wouldn't have thought of myself. Or I would have spent a much longer time searching the web. This cuts out a lot of that noise and gets me closer to do the one thing that I want the most - quality time with my partner.
FYI, the ideas were hand-painted canvas art (with a list of materials I'd need), handmade pottery and scrapbooking.

Interesting idea but it kinda feels like just another version of Honeydue or Couple, both focus on keeping things fresh too, I wonder how different it really is, also does it handle privacy concerns, feels weird to have an AI knowing everything about my relationship, seems like a lot of data to give away, curious if you'll add more features in the future, maybe some real-time advice based on interactions, that would be cool
