Interesting idea, gave it a download. Very similar to what we are doing at Tastemates - just with the negative versus positive spin. I think even our press coverage was pretty much the same "Connect with people who like who you like" versus your "hate...etc". How is at all going since launch? Hater originally started as a stand-up comedy joke... but the more I thought about it, the more convinced I was that maybe it could work as a real app. With the help of my CTO (@nafetswirth) we made it happen. Cool app and a nice take on the dating concept, I think the main issue is lack of users at the moment. Every person that I'm suggested is over 3000 miles away.. I live in England. 😂

like it! Concept is fun, but wasn't totally clear on the ratings scale and how to like vs love something. Set a help screen that you can pull up while people are learning the interface and explain more about what the diffference is between the 4 states. While the idea of showing stats on each state is nice (i.e. 46% hate) I think you are going to get a confirmation bias where people aren't being truthful, so why hate something that only 4% of the users hate... I won't find anyone here so I'll like it even though I really hate staying up late... show that stat as an interstitial or only if people are interested in that stufff and let them swipe on. Show total number of users too so 46% of 23 vs 46% of 20,000 mean radically different stuff. Would add the same 4 factor swipe to photos too. I can be meh about a photo but love some other attribute of the person. Personally I like a skip feature for photos but since I'm not actually looking for a date and just playing with a new app I likely don't matter. Did not like the permissions requests, don't see why you need friends list and relationship status and access to all photos where I then didn't get a chance to approve/decline which ones I wanted shown. Good luck with the launch!
