Guestlist has been around for a while, which is probably why it hadn't already been hunted. Definitely my go-to for single events like non-recurring meetups. They cover most use cases but mostly I just like using it for small private events because the beautiful event pages make me look good ;)
I think @bentlegen had something to do with its inception.
