There are surprisingly few products (afaik) focused on helping people better manage their team. @Evanish is working on a product in this space.
Jason Evanish
@rrhoover You're right, Ryan. Unfortunately, soft skill problems aren't as sexy as the next consumer web hit. That has relegated the solutions to help with this kind of stuff largely to the world of HR, which is really focused on compliance first. No manager wants to dive into the Success Factors or WorkDays of the world any more times than they're required. Of course, the byproduct of that is there aren't many tools to help them. 15Five is definitely a great tool to help spark employee-manager conversations, but the real magic happens in the 1 on 1, which is what Lighthouse focuses on.

@rrhoover When Patrick and I started Grokky we were drawing on our experience at HubSpot watching ourselves and others suddenly responsible for managing a lot of talented people. We're building tools that we wish we'd had. Hopefully we help others avoid some of the missteps that we've made along the way.

I really like using http://www.15five.com/. I've also looked at https://weekdone.com/ but stayed with 15five just because I had just moved my team on to it and they were really enjoying it. To be honest, this landing page was way too long and convoluted for me to understand how the product works. But the idea is a good one.

@ffumarola Argh I'm sorry you found the landing page to be long and convoluted. I don't disagree. While we were in private beta we walked each company through the pitch and product. The slide-deck format worked well for that. Now that we are in public beta it will be getting a redesign to get to the point quickly and clearly.

@ffumarola Just launched the redesigned home page. No more slide show, not an overwhelming amount of information, and a bit cleaner design. Thanks for your feedback.
