Tired of not getting interviews? Glide takes the guesswork out of applying by demystifying application tracking systems (ATS). Identify where you stand, leverage feedback, and land more interviews. Built for SWE internships & new grads.
Hey Sameer here. I'm a college student and when I started applying to jobs, I kept getting auto-rejected from every company I applied to.
Along with Sahil and Saaniya, we did some research and found automated systems automatically block 75% of resumes before they are ever seen by a human.
We built a small tool that helped us get past the first round. But then we realized that this could help a lot of job seekers.
Try it out and let us know what you think :)
@thesameerk cool idea 💡 i did not know how auto-rejection works. could be nice to dig in... anyway, even if your product helps 1 applicant, it is awesome - and i am sure it will help more people 🤞
I'd love to understand better how you guarantee to get past the 1st round. Were these resumes submitted to the most common ATSs? Do you have any stats on the success rate once Glide CV is used?
@jcalvarezjr great questions! We actually don't guarantee getting past OA's - our goal is to shine a light within the black box of applicant tracking system, and help candidates identify what an ATS might see on their end. However, our skill & experience valuation criteria is based on analyzing ~100 SWE intern job portals and keeping track of the most common technical skills. Hope this answers your question!
Hey Sameer, looks amazing. As a student I have used similar services in the past to get through the AI of some application processes or in general to improve my CV. I ran my CV through it and was wondering a few things:
*The skill insight section focuses only on engineering skills, have you considered expanding it? Soft skills are becoming a popular requirement for SWE internships.
*I like the keyword section, in addition to what your app looks for, something that I know companies care about is having quantitative measures introduced in the CV text. In order to quantify the achievements in certain positions or learnings, it would be cool if the system also looked for quantitative elements in the text of a CV (Created x% growth, development of something in X months etc) to contribute to the score.
*I thought the "What employers see when you submit your resume" is a super cool add-on and haven't seen that anywhere else yet.
*Maybe include a few more titles people can use to name their CV. Mine is Nicolaas_Spijker_CV and was still flagged with: "Please use standard resume naming conventions".
*something really cool I have seen which probably requires the system to run a bit is comparing the score to the website average. That way you know how you score against other people and when you follow the recommendations you get a small ego boost because you're doing better than the website average
Super cool app though, saved it for future reference :)

Much needed for students like myself!! We need more easy, simple to use solutions like this! If there are plans to extend to other disciplines (aside from software engineering), it would be great as well.
Update:
Explored the product and wow, I really love the simplicity and transparency in showing us all that the ATS has learnt about myself, not just superficial scores and some comments, seen in other similar products.
Might there also be "AI" to suggest better phrasing and automatically make my score better? Or "AI" to pick up certain areas and prompt me to include more information. Etc. These may take some work, but as of now, this product looks great! I will save it to my list of useful apps!
This is really well-made, Sameer! Love the simplicity of the user experience and the in-depth feedback that the tool provides! Can definitely see this being super helpful for new-grads! :D
