Hi Product Hunt! I'm Hush Zephyr, and Gamiko is a one-person project.
I wanted the classic games people actually play at home, from Chess, Go and Xiangqi to Bridge, Hearts, Dou Dizhu and Klondike, in one app that works without an account and without an internet connection. Gamiko just passed 100 games, so this felt like a good moment to share it.
A few things I cared about:
- Instant switching: every game stays loaded in the background, so you can keep a Chess game, a Bridge hand and a Spider deal open at once. Pinch with two fingers to open a multitasking-style switcher and jump between them, with no loading screens. Progress saves automatically.
- Face-to-face play: everyone joins the same Wi-Fi, turns on LAN Battle and opens the same game. The first player in hosts, the others join automatically. No servers, no sign-up.
- A casual AI that adjusts to you. It's meant for relaxed games, not serious training.
- Rules built into every game, so you can pick up something new like Shogi, Mancala or Escoba.
- Restrained ads: an ad only plays when you tap to watch it for in-game items. You can play everything without ads or purchases.
It runs on a game engine I built myself, and it's available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese and Chinese.
I'd love to hear which classic you play most, and anything that feels off. Thanks for taking a look!
