I am an indie hacker in Colombia, and for years my money lived in a spreadsheet: two brokers, a crypto exchange, an apartment, savings in three currencies. Every month I rebuilt the same tabs, and I still could not answer one question: am I actually making money? Two things kept getting in the way, and both are why FortuneOK exists. The first is that most trackers convert your history at today's exchange rate. A GBP holding I bought in 2016 was being valued as though I had bought it this morning, which overstated it by about 10%. FortuneOK converts every trade at the rate of the day it happened. The second is how "annual return" is usually calculated. If you add money every month, a total return spread over the whole period credits the dollar you added last month with ten years of growth. A position I had built at a real 10% a year was reporting 5.3%. FortuneOK uses a money-weighted return (XIRR), which is the same maths a fund uses.
