Hello, Product Hunters! It's exciting to be here and engage with this vibrant community. I'm Shawn Vader, CTO and Co-founder of Fiskl. Despite the formal titles, we often say our CEO role stands for Chief Everything Officer—we do everything from support to testing and everything in between. Fiskl was born from personal frustration. As a freelance developer, I struggled with invoicing and managing clients. I was missing payments, neglecting to claim expenses, and spending too much time on less cooperative clients. Moreover, truly mobile solutions were scarce; many that claimed to be were not. Together with Alina & Monica, we launched Fiskl. Initially just a project, it surprisingly gained traction. Based on customer feedback, we evolved into a regional, multi-currency platform, bootstrapping our way through the process. This worked for a while, but we knew deep down that we needed to become a full-fledged accounting platform, a daunting endeavor. Then COVID hit. How does a small team compete with the giants? I believe the answer is to succeed where they tend to fail. For us, that's simplicity—a principle our tech team passionately upholds, allowing us to avoid technical debt and evolve efficiently and continuously. So, rather than shrink, we asked ourselves: How about becoming a global, user-friendly, fully mobile, multi-currency accounting platform? So, we got to work. Today, we're proud of what Fiskl has become. Our multi-currency system integrates seamlessly with services like Stripe and WIO, automating and error-proofing tasks that once consumed precious time. Our Accounting Portal's adoption by firms further validates our vision. Managing complex accounting tasks easily on mobile is something we take pride in. Our journey is far from over.
