Switched our team to eXo Platform 7.0 after getting fed up with Slack's limitations. The open-source freedom is refreshing - we finally own our data completely. The interface is clean and the document collaboration works surprisingly well. Had to get our IT guy to handle the Docker setup though, and some team members miss Slack's mobile polish. For technical teams who care about privacy, it's a game changer. For non-tech companies, maybe wait for more user-friendly install options.

I've been using eXo Platform 7.0 as a Slack alternative for about a month now. The open-source, self-hosted approach is great for control over our data, and having docs and chat in one place is super convenient. That said, setting it up took some technical work (Docker knowledge helps), and I wish the mobile experience was smoother. Overall, if your team values privacy and doesn't mind some setup, it's worth trying - just know it's not quite as polished as big SaaS options yet.

We migrated to eXo after Microsoft Teams became too bloated for us. Three months in: the good - it's lightning fast, fully customizable, and our data stays on our servers. The document editing is slick. The challenging - onboarding non-tech users took effort, and we miss some integrations. But for our 20-person dev team? Perfect fit. The open-source model lets us tweak everything - worth the learning curve if you value control over convenience.

Exo, has been an amazing partner. Their opensource platform allow small groups to develop capacity, share data and knowledge.

What needs improvement

One challenge is the support in community, the challenge is grow the community to ensure organize support.
