Free German learning app for expats in Germany. I moved here and realized no app taught me the German I actually needed at the Bürgeramt, doctor's office, or bank. So I built one. Spaced repetition vocabulary with native audio, interactive scenarios for real situations like registering your address or explaining symptoms to a doctor, themed decks, and a glossary. Available on Android and iOS. Completely free, no paywalls.
Hey! I moved to Germany and spent months on Duolingo before my first visit to the Bürgeramt. I couldn't understand a single thing the clerk said. Same thing at the doctor, the bank, the Ausländerbehörde. Turns out no app teaches you the German you actually need as an expat.
So I built EverydayDeutsch. It started as a personal vocabulary list of words I kept running into, then grew into a full app with spaced repetition, native audio, and interactive scenarios where you can practice conversations before the real thing.
The biggest shift in my approach was realizing that expats don't need grammar drills. They need to walk into the Bürgeramt and know exactly what to say. Every feature is built around that idea.
It's completely free. Would love to hear what you think, especially if you've lived in Germany and know the struggle!
