Busy week for Facebook. They just announced Marketplace on Monday.
For a while Facebook’s been the best event discovery platform but I always felt the events section within the app was buried and could be improved. Eager to play with this.

@rrhoover Becoming the everything app like WeChat is a smart play on Facebook's part. Busting out the features in to other apps is great too
@pnkheelspnktrk@rrhoover It had been on my screen for a pretty long time. I assumed everyone had it. For them to be testing it on a narrow group, there are a lot of sellers already using it.
I often encourage people to delete the Facebook app because it's its a worthless time sink, and people often understand, and only keep the app because of their Facebook events. I am interested to see i they were bullshitting me or not :)

@kevando_ Facebook clearly understands the different needs of its users...they've been splitting up their services into different apps like livestreaming, following celebrity, now events, etc. But the biggest service IMO is news aggregation. I'd be excited if Facebook comes out with an AI-powered news feed app soon (cutting out the clickbait, of course).

@kevando_ Not exactly...I get more status updates than stories now, I can't save for later all that well, change reading text/background options, etc. that I can do in more dedicated apps.
#1 Feature Request: Make it easy to communicate that accepting an invitation = maybe and saying interested in going means thanks for the invite! but no thanks 🙃🙃🙃🙃
Always a little bummed when apps debut on a single platform... especially when that company developed cross-os development tools (React Native).

It's about time that Facebook started unbundling its killer features like Events. I'm really curious about the travel feature (finding events for upcoming trips). Naturally smart option.
ALSO: Imagine if they clone key features from Sunrise into this!!
