Etha is a real-time representation of news and peoples opinions on specific subjects and policies. Users on the platform can vote and debate and see a bigger picture of data analytics and how the world shares their views.

✅Answer: Etha is not a fact checking system. It is an interactive news social media platform that allows the users to hold politicians accountable while mitigating the spread of information by detecting possible sources of misinformation. We calculate the LeaderQ score for Politicians, which is the public approval rating of a certain figure. It goes up and down as people continuously interact with the statements made by the politicians and is a real-time report card of how likable the politicians in question are.
We also curate news from almost 1500 big/small news media houses and understand the narratives put out by them. This allows us to understand how people are reacting to different narratives of the same news. This gives us the ability to verify if the public response is aligned with the news articles that have been published. If they don’t align and people behave in an unpredictable manner, it can be a possible source of misinformation and we would need to verify it further.

❓Etha FAQ’s!!: How will we know Etha is credible? All the other news media sites say the same thing…⚖️
✅Answer: Etha does not only curate news from various sources and provide a way to hold politicians accountable, it also is a platform responsible for mitigating the spread of misinformation. Our advanced AI technologies allow us to detect the possible sources of misinformation. Think of it as an anti-propaganda machine. We are trying to revolutionize the way people consume news. We all are stuck in our own echo chambers consuming the narratives that align with our ideologies. Etha takes the subjective aspect of these narratives and breaks down the news into an objective form.
We also go through the various narratives presented by these various media houses and put forth the collected data. This is a way of showing people how different narratives shape different ideologies. We are trying to solve the issue at the grass roots level of ideologies, instead of what just one person feels about a certain topic at hand. We are trying to build a community of people who are emotionally charged about the political polarization and media manipulation that has been tearing our country and people apart. It is time for us to restore the faith in democracy.

❓A common FAQ about Etha: How will you present underrepresented populations and people? ✨
✅Answer: Our AI technology is able to classify various ideologies of people. When people start reacting to a news article that leans towards a certain demographic, the AI stops learning the extreme patterns. These extreme patterns add bias into the system but by controlling what we learn, we can make sure that every aspect of our society is represented equally on our platform.
The AI will make choices independent from the ideology of the majority of the public, which would allow it to be unbiased and represent the under-represented people of our society.

I'm Richard and the Lead UI and UX designer for Etha. Fascinated about the idea, the entire team and I wanted to help them out in the beginning because politics today has really affected a major part of our lives and miss information polluted political truths however is what we face today. Using AI to solve political misinformation and making political statements as transparent as possible as well as holding politicians accountable to the statements they make is what we have set hearts to accomplish and with the strength of our great team we are closer than ever before.
❓A common question for Etha: How did Etha get to this point, or even thought of such a complex solution? 🤔
✅Answer: Great question and it deserves a lot of praise. @nicole our CEO, had this incredible journey, filled with trails and tribulations. Her combined experiences at Warner Bros and Workday as an implementation architect gave her ways to see a broader perspective of how news media works, in addition to the technical systems she had exposure to at Workday (gov and education platforms) tied in this idea naturally. Might I add, that she also had a difficult time two years ago, where she lost both startup and professional jobs during Covid. Her strength and passion to solve this complex problem deserves a complex solution, and her fearlessness is what drives us on a daily basis to get it done!

I am Ojelola from Nigeria and I am the social media marketing specialist at Etha. I love the team and the idea because it offers an opportunity to work on a product that aligns with my ideas and my vision of how proper and unbiased insights into the politics of the United States(and the world at large) should be presented. I see Etha becoming the go-to spot for unbiased and straightforward political news. Needless to say, working on Etha has been a remarkable experience for me.
❓A common FAQ about Etha: Is this govTech? If so, how will this help the government and the future of systems thinking to create a better algocracy system? 🏛
✅Answer: First, an ‘Algocracy’ is defined as: “Government By algorithm” - in a way, it can be an ‘alternative’ form of government or social ordering where the usage of algorithms (especially AI and blockchain) are applied to regulations, law enforcement, and generally any aspect of everyday life like transportation and registration.
With Etha’s AI technologies, we will be able to understand how people feel about certain politicians or policies at hand. This collected data becomes very valuable as we start understanding what it is that people actually need. This allows us to be able to confidently say that a policy is in high demand by the public and needs to be approved. Similarly, people can instantly contribute to the leaderQ score of the politician, which gives us a general acceptance of who should be an appropriate candidate for a certain position.
Also, being secured by blockchain gives us the ability to secure the data and present it to the public in a secure way. This adds a lot of transparency to the political system

✅Answer: Aastik and Nicole have known each other for over three years. When Aastik worked at Holosuit in India, we had an AR/VR trip to San Francisco and worked with Nicole on a few projects at Workday. I met Nicole and Aastik when they were seeking a cofounder to run the company's operations, on the YC-cofounder matching portal. Being an avid follower of political developments, and seeing how badly they're been distorted in our news and social media over the years, I decided that I wanted to help them achieve their mission - so it was a no-brainer for me to sign-on as a cofounder. Together, we have extensive software, sales, marketing, and AI knowledge, that makes us a force to be reckoned with! Couldn’t be happier with our executive team, as well as the rest of our wonderful team, for that matter. Go team Etha!!!
