I'm excited about building apps with AI capabilities, but also anxious about the usage bills. That's why I built DriftInsight.
The existing solutions either required SDK changes (which means touching production code), proxying all traffic (extra complexity), or checking yet another dashboard daily (which I never did).
I wanted something that:
- Just works without code changes
- Comes to me instead of me going to it
- Respects my attention, only pings when something matters
So I built it. A GitHub Action syncs your usage hourly, and you get notified in Slack or email when costs spike, budgets approach limits, or usage patterns shift.
The best part? Your API keys never leave your GitHub Secrets. Only aggregated numbers are collected: total cost, request counts, model breakdown. Never your prompts or responses.
And the collector is fully open source, intentionally boring and simple. Pin to a specific version like v1.0.0 for complete stability. No surprise updates, no black boxes. Audit it yourself before you deploy.
