👋 Hey everyone, I’m Matt from Dokkio Marketing. We’re excited to launch Dokkio Sidebar on Product Hunt. Let me share some of the “back story”: 👣 How we got here: Our core team has been delivering tools to manage & organize files and documents for over a decade. We’ve seen a proliferation of places to store that content (Dropbox, Drive, Box, OneDrive, etc.), to author it (Google Docs, Office 365, Notion, etc.) and to share it (email, Slack, MS-Teams, etc.). Our beta users actively used Sidebar for: MultiSearch - across cloud accounts, clipped pages, shared or local laptop files Email - find a relevant proposal or spec, then embed a link to it in within a message Author - find a relevant budget or meeting notes, and copy or link to contents Collaboration - easily incorporate documents into comments or revisions Screening - instantly understand “what this page is about” and its relevance Research - clip,bookmark and auto-tag a page to add it to the knowledge base 🤔 How It Works: We hope you’ll install Sidebar, and check out its tabbed UI:: ✅ The About tab shows how each web page you view relates to your work (as reflected in your Dokkio tags). One click clips & auto-tags the page, or a partial-page snapshot, and it’s easy to add new tags. ✅ The Search tab lets you search the content of all your files without opening a new tab or window. If you search in a web app or do a Google web search, Dokkio automatically does a parallel MultiSearch, and shows you the results in this tab. ✅ The Recent tab shows files that have recently changed, in real time. Monitor as files are shared with you or revised by colleagues, and hover to see a preview - all without leaving your current web page. ✅ The Tags tab allows you to easily see the tags that Dokkio is using to organize your files. Easily create new tags and new ways to organize - for example, "by Project" or "by Department". ✅ The Sources tab shows the content that's currently connected to Dokkio (cloud accounts, file storage and communication tools, and local laptop folders), and lets you easily connect more! 🎁 PH DEAL (Free Premium Dokkio account for 6 months!) Congratulations on the launch! The product looks super interesting, especially the "MultiSearch" feature. I'm curious to see how it will perform in real-world scenarios.
