Docmint records your file's SHA-256 fingerprint on the Base blockchain: a public, timestamped proof anyone can verify, even without us. The file never leaves your browser. No wallet, no crypto: sign in with Google. 3 free records.

Hey Product Hunt! ๐
I'm Tadeu, the maker of Docmint.
It started with a simple, annoying question: "How do I prove I had this file first?"
A designer friend had a layout copied by a client, and all she had were file dates
that anyone could edit. The usual answers were a notary (slow, expensive, and you
hand over your document) or emailing it to yourself (not much proof at all).
So I built Docmint:
๐ Your browser computes the file's SHA-256 fingerprint. The file itself is never uploaded.
โ๏ธ That fingerprint goes into a smart contract on Base (an Ethereum L2). The block date
is the timestamp, and nobody can edit or delete it, not even us.
๐งพ A PDF receipt with a QR code lands in your inbox. Anyone can verify the file at
docmint.app/verify, and every result shows how to check it without Docmint
(BaseScan โ tokenURI โ IPFS), so the proof outlives us.
โฆ Each file also gets a visual fingerprint: an 8ร8 print drawn from its hash.
Change one character and the whole picture changes.
No wallet and no crypto: sign in with Google or email and pay by card (or Pix in Brazil).
Batches of up to 200 files go in one transaction, and each file keeps its own Merkle proof.
Who it's for: designers, writers, musicians, developers, researchers, and anyone who
sends work to clients before signing a contract.
To be upfront: Docmint isn't a notary and doesn't replace copyright or trademark
registration. It's independent technical evidence that complements them.
๐ Every new account gets 3 free records, and PRODUCTHUNT takes 30% off any credit pack this week.
Next up: a REST API with webhooks, so you can record and verify from your own systems.
I'd love your feedback, especially on what you'd want to protect first. I'll be here all day!
