I grew up doing puja at home without really understanding why. The mantras, the shlokas, the rituals ā they were part of life, but the meaning behind them always felt just out of reach. As I got older and moved cities for work, that disconnect only grew deeper.
I tried finding an app that could help me reconnect. Something modern, something that felt as good to use as Headspace or Calm ā but for Hindu scripture. It didn't exist. Christianity has Hallow (valued at over $1B). Islam has Muslim Pro (100M+ downloads). For the 1.2 billion Hindus worldwide? Nothing that treats the tradition with the design quality and intelligence it deserves.
So I built Dharma Daily.
Here's what's inside:
ā Shloka of the Day ā A daily verse from the Bhagavad Gita with Sanskrit, transliteration, English translation, and audio
ā Complete Bhagavad Gita ā All 700 verses across 18 chapters, searchable and bookmarkable
ā Ask Krishna ā An AI-powered spiritual guide (built on Claude by Anthropic) that answers your questions grounded in the Gita and Hindu philosophy
ā Mantra Library ā Gayatri, Maha Mrityunjaya, Om Namah Shivaya and more with meanings and guided practice
ā Mahabharata Journey ā The greatest epic ever told, retold chapter by chapter for modern readers
ā Reading Plans ā Guided paths like "Gita for Beginners" with streak tracking
ā Festival Calendar ā Never miss a celebration
The app is free to use. There's an optional Sadhana+ subscription for those who want to go deeper.
I built this for every Hindu who grew up feeling the warmth of their tradition but never had the right tool to truly understand it. Whether you're diaspora missing your roots, or simply curious about one of the world's oldest living wisdom traditions ā this is for you.
I'd love your feedback, questions, and honest thoughts. What features would make your daily practice better?
