Deadstack

A public archive of failed startups and lessons

Deadstack is a curated archive of real startup post-mortems that helps founders learn from failure before they build. Search and explore why products failed, what went wrong, and what founders learned. Instead of chasing success stories, Deadstack reveals repeatable mistake patterns in funding, growth, product, and execution so builders can make smarter decisions and avoid costly errors.

I built Deadstack to tackle a problem I’d seen again and again: founders work hard on projects, learn a ton, but those lessons disappear once the project ends. Deadstack is an archive of real post-mortems not hype, not polished case studies just honest stories about what went wrong and what was learned. While building it, I realized how little visibility there is around why products fail and how much we could all benefit from that knowledge. So I focused on simplicity, clear categories (like “No Users” and “Tech Debt”), and a way for founders to contribute their stories. Today’s launch is meant to start a conversation. I’d love your feedback on: – what you want to learn from failure archives – what categories or filters would be most useful – any features that would help share knowledge faster I’ll be here answering questions all day.
