I’m a big fan of my Tesla Model Y, but one thing disappoints me: the poor experience with supported audio apps. While Tesla has added Apple Music and YouTube Music this year, I still miss the seamless experience of listening to podcasts via Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. At the very least, I wish there were more audio app options. The inspiration for my project came from the frustrating podcast experience in Tesla’s apps. Quickly finding and selecting episodes—especially older ones—requires navigating through multiple menus and making countless selections. It’s tedious and far from user-friendly, particularly when I’m on the go (though not while driving, of course). I’ve been using my project almost daily since July. While accessing it through Tesla’s web browser isn’t perfect—frequent restarts and manual navigation to the app are required—I still find it much better than the alternatives. I’m sharing this now because Tesla’s recent update supports streaming audio via the web browser, making my project even more practical. It’s not far from feeling like a native Tesla app.
