Why does a book only get one cover? Cover Culture gives books the freedom they deserve. Through print-on-demand technology, artists create and earn royalties on custom editions of books they love, and readers get to own a cover that truly speaks to them. Lets build a cover culture.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been living at the intersection of three passions: Literature, Visual Art, and Technology.
For years, I’ve worked on digital products, systems, and algorithms. But I always kept coming back to the physical smell of paper, the weight of a book in my hands, and the magic of a cover that stops you in your tracks.
Then one day, a simple question hit me: Why on earth does a book only get ONE cover?
Think about it. A timeless story lives for generations, read by millions of different people with unique tastes. Yet publishing locked it into a single design decades ago.
And more questions kept bugging me:
Why should artists wait for a publisher to call before creating artwork for books they love?
And if a cover plays such a massive role in a book’s success (far bigger than most people realize), why does the artist almost never share in the financial upside?
So, I decided to connect the dots and build something new.
Today, I’m thrilled to introduce Cover Culture.
Cover Culture is a platform that opens up the literary world to multiple covers. It’s where artists create the covers they’ve always dreamed of seeing on the books they love, and where readers can finally choose the exact edition that speaks to them. When you order, it’s printed on demand, shipped to your door, and arrives as a physical, beautifully finished book.

is it mostly public domain books for now? id grab a weird cover for dune in a second but im guessing rights make that hard
@jaewon_seo Spot on! We’re strictly public domain for now so we can handle print-on-demand and payouts smoothly without getting legal involved.
That said, if you're into sci-fi, we've got classics like The War of the Worlds, 20,000 Leagues, or Frankenstein ready for wild covers. And who knows—maybe official licensing deals will happen sooner than we think!
