Been waiting for something like this, the local-only angle is what sold me. One thing that would make it a daily driver for me is a quick way to export a Saved View as a vCard bundle so I can hand off filtered subsets of contacts to coworkers without sharing my whole address book.
@dorian_ma Thanks, Dorian — great timing. Exporting a filtered subset without exposing the whole address book is exactly the kind of workflow I want Compact Contacts to support.
I’m currently testing a v1.2 Export Center that can export an active Saved View—as well as a selection or current search/filter results—as a vCard bundle or CSV. It shows the scope and contact count before creating the file, and everything stays local.
I don’t want to promise a release date until signed-build testing is complete, but this is a core v1.2 item. Would vCard cover your workflow, or would a field-selectable CSV export also be useful?
@dorian_ma quick update: v1.2 is now live, and the Saved View → vCard workflow you asked for is included. You can export any Saved View directly as a vCard bundle, with the scope and contact count shown first. Contact Notes stay excluded by default and are included only if you explicitly choose them.
