Colorium is a community-driven color palette platform where people can explore and share beautiful color combinations. Built as a personal full-stack project, Colorium helped me explore product design, databases, authentication, and creating a better user experience. Still improving and learning along the way — feedback is appreciated!

Really cool to see a full-stack color palette project like this. How do you handle users uploading palettes, are the colors stored as hex codes with metadata, or do you also let people tag moods or themes to each palette for easier discovery?
@kacalisat53860 heyy,,z thanks so much for the support, i'd really appreciate that you checking out the project.
To answer your question: yes, we store the colors as hex codes along with their associated metadata. Regarding tagging, we currently use a semi-automated system. While users can't create custom tags just yet, our search engine is already capable of indexing palette titles, descriptions, and fixed base-color tags.
We do support mood-based discovery as well, which currently handles both English and Indonesian. I agree that custom user-defined tags could be a great way to improve discovery, and I'm definitely looking into how to implement that effectively without cluttering the search experience.
Would love to hear your thoughts on what kind of tagging system you usually find most useful in palette tools!
how does the community submission process work, like is there any moderation before palettes go live or do they just show up immediately
@osifil56668 Thanks for your question! right now, the community submission process is open-access to encourage early growth and engagement.
however, I'm definitely keeping security and quality in mind. to prevent spam and misuse, I’ve already implemented IP rate limiting and Cloudflare CAPTCHA.
as for content quality, I’m actively planning a more robust moderation layer. I'm currently weighing a few options to implement an automated system for quality control or handle it manually for the time being to ensure the quality stays high,, a structured moderation policy is definitely high on my roadmap.
If you have any experience or tips on how to handle community-driven moderation effectively as a project scales, i'd love to hear your thoughts!
Love how clean the palette previews look, the way each combination shows up against a neutral background makes it really easy to judge the colors without distraction. Nice execution for a solo build.
@nisa262056 thank you so much for the kind words! i'm really glad to hear that you found the layout and the preview mode intuitive, that was exactly the vibe i was going for.
as a solo builder, feedback like this really keeps me motivated to keep improving Colorium. If you find the tool useful for your workflow, a quick upvote would mean the world to me and help other designers discover it too.
thankyou very much for the support, truly appreciate it!
