For years I generated invoices by hand in Google Docs, saved each PDF to a folder on my laptop, and collated them every quarter to email to my accountant when GST or provisional tax fell due. It worked, but I wanted a more organised way to do it. On top of that I kept a spreadsheet to track how much GST I'd collected and how much income tax was accruing. The harder problem was knowing what mine was actually to spend: my operating cash, money owed to IRD, and personal savings all sat in one account, and the bank balance didn't tell me which was which.

Love the ringfencing concept, finally something built for NZ contractors instead of generic US tools. One thing that would help me a lot: a quick "tax due in N days" dashboard widget so I know exactly how much to set aside for the next IRD payment without digging through reports.

Love that it ringfences GST and income tax the moment a payment comes in, takes the guesswork out of what I can actually spend. Setup was quick and the NZ-specific templates are a nice touch.
