With GPT-5.5, Codex evolves into a true cross-app coding agent—navigating browsers, interacting with web apps, generating docs in Microsoft Office and Google Drive, and testing workflows like a real user. It sees, clicks, debugs, and iterates autonomously, bringing developers closer to reliable, end-to-end automated builds.
It took a while till windows got a good desktop assistant, before that it was just Claude Desktop but usage limits were not much close, however Codex does seem to be so far the best one that is not too complex for daily users to use and setup (Compared to Hermes or OpenClaw) and what most people probably will do is a feature so its a pretty neat tool. definitely worth a try.
