Credits are becoming the new pricing metric for AI products.
The logic sounds simple: AI agents consume tokens. Customers pay for credits.
But what happens behind the scenes? How do you translate AI usage into credits, calculate the cost, and bill customers in real time?
We decided to make this a little more fun.
Over the weekend, we developed a playground to build browser extensions through vibe coding, with billing powered by Clocknext.

Vibe with it. Build a browser extension of your choice. And watch how credits get calculated and billed in real time as you use the platform.
We are using clocknext internally here in superb. It’s never been easier than this to calculate and charge credits per workspace/customer. Congrats on the launch Clocknext team.
@iamsaravanaa Glad that we are able to manage all your pricing plans on Clocknext, which is based on "AI Credits". More to come on the customization of credit calculation and dynamically changing it at customer level.
Thanks for being one of our early adopters.
Congrats on the launch, @vijayanandkailash
AI billing has been a real pain and Clocknext made it simple for us. 🚀
@shivaraj_s Glad to have you as one of our early adopters. The use cases that we solve for Facilio pushes us to go deeper and attribute the nuances of how agents runs, and turn every AI usage in to accurate billing.
Good luck with the launch!
@yenceesanjeev Thanks a bunch, Sanjeev! 🙏🏼
Congratulations on the launch 🎉
@bhavyasree Thank you for your support, Bhavya! Much appreciated.
looks cool!
@louislecat Thank you, Louis! Means a lot. 😄
Congrats on the launch, @vijayanandkailash, @manish_balaji and team!
Hitting the nail on the head regarding the "Postgres table + cron job + spreadsheet" trap;
Being able to track provider costs directly against customer price per agent run is a massive sanity saver for keeping margins healthy when models shift.
How are you handling custom enterprise agreements where a specific client negotiates custom token-to-credit ratios or model fallback pricing?
@manish_balaji @adith_168 Our Billing Infra version supports enterprises customize model costs, add custom models, define their own logic for token-to-credit conversions. On top, we enable tracking provider cost for all the tool calls that agents triggers (eg: Twillio APIs for easy understanding), and maintain margin protected 100%.

"Postgres table + cron job + spreadsheet"
You're right. Companies often start with this simple application logic, and end up facing bottleneck while scaling. For instance, when agent sends signals in large volume at high frequency, application logic fails. It needs a highly durable event streaming at the frontier, fast-write database, caching etc.
Some start with above architecture, but it is resource and cost intensive.
