Clipses cuts down user interview admin so researchers spend more time on the research itself. Get ready to share highlight reels in minutes, with no video editing software required. Upload your interview recording, search the synced transcript by topic or meaning ("switching cost," "onboarding friction"), clip the moments that matter, pull matching quotes across sessions into one video reel, and share a link that plays anywhere.

👋 Hi Product Hunt, I'm Natalie, co-founder of Clipses.
For 8 years I’ve led researchers: people who studied under Don Norman, have decades of market research experience, and have ample degrees: HCI and CS and UX and MBAs. So when I say even the most competent researchers are drowning in interview admin, I've lived it. Hours of footage, then hours more spent hunting for the research proof a stakeholder needs for a 9am decision.
Clipses is my answer to that problem. The idea is simple: help researchers quickly turn interview footage into findings people actually watch.
Think of it like the intersection of Dovetail and Opus. A high utility version of Dovetail's clipping and tagging, without all the extra clunky features. And the easy video creation capabilities of Opus, but built specifically for researchers.
Here’s some of what you get:
Transcribes and syncs your interview recording, so every word is searchable
AI search by meaning ("switching cost," "onboarding friction"), not just keyword
One-click clipping straight from the transcript, no video scrubbing
Theme your findings with tags and playlists
Pull matching moments across every session into one reel
Share a link that plays in any browser, no app required
Export CSVs of your research to work with your data anywhere
I have cold-messaged hundreds of researchers to show them an early version of Clipses. One told me she'd been trying to do this with an industry-leading tool and that it was “just too much." Another saw the demo and said: "It's so simple. It's just solving this one problem that we have." That's when I knew the need was real.
Clipses is free to start: no credit card required. Upload your first recording and you'll also unlock 14 days of paid features including unlimited projects and transcripts, watermark-free downloads, and more.

Thanks for checking it out,

@natalie_thomas3 The workflow looks really well thought out. I can definitely see how reducing hours of interview review into minutes would be valuable for research teams.
@sharang_saxena Thanks, Sharang!
@natalie_thomas3 Very cool. Looking forward to seeing it in action!
@chromatomatic Thanks so much, Tamara!
After running my first usability study solo, I discovered how frustrating and grindy reviewing all the footage and transcripts would be. After discovering the transcripts alone wouldn't be accurate enough to pull qualitative data from, I ended up personally watching back all 9 hours of footage at 2x speed to time stamp and hand code meaningful quotes into a spreadsheet. After all that work, I didn't have the skills or time to be able to share impactful video moments when I presented the findings with the founder and team. After going through all that and wrapping up the study, Jon reached out about Clipses. Using Clipses would have saved me hours of time, and would have allowed me to clip together meaningful moments to share. Seeing video of real people makes a much bigger impact on stakeholder decisions than reading their quotes alone. It adds the humanity back into the data. I'll definitely be using Clipses in my next big project.
The semantic search actually works well, found "onboarding friction" across calls I forgot I'd mentioned. Pulling those clips into one reel took like two minutes, which is wild compared to my usual Premiere workflow.
@asiyeergvev7sj Thank you for the kind words and sharing 🙏
