CLI-Boom

CLI-Boom

Sfx for your favorite (and most dangerous) commands.

It started with a simple idea: kubectl sounds like something Pikachu would say. Now, it's evolved. Get a "vine boom" every time you type kubectl. Then, get a dose of healthy paranoia with the "Among Us Impostor" sound whenever you attempt a git push --force.

Hey, Product Hunt! 👋 I'm the maker of CLI-Boom. This whole thing started from a single, dumb thought: "kubectl sounds like a Pokémon." With the launch of "For the love of code 2025" by GitHub, I led myself down a rabbit hole of trying to make my terminal play a sound every time I typed it. I do it everyday at work, so why not improve my performance the same way RGB lights beef up PCs. Then I thought, what other commands could use a soundtrack? What's the one command that makes every developer's heart skip a beat? git push --force It felt... a little sussy. So, naturally, I had to add the Among Us Impostor sound effect whenever that command is about to run. It's the perfect audio cue to make you pause and think, "Am I the impostor?" before you potentially wreck a repo. CLI-Boom is a tiny, lightweight script with no dependencies. It's designed to be a fun, harmless addition to your daily workflow. Features so far: 💥 Vine Boom sound when you type kubectl 🔪 Impostor Sound when you run git push --force It's fully open-source, and I'd love to hear your ideas for other command/sound pairings! WIP: Create Your Own Version (The Fun Part). Hope it brings a smile to your face. Looking forward to your feedback!

Update: imposter.mp3 now plays after typing instead of after entering for `--force`.

This is hilarious and weirdly useful — a fun way to add some personality (and maybe caution 😅) to your dev workflow. Congrats on the launch 🚀
