It started with a question streaming apps are bad at: I know what I'm in the mood for tonight, so what should I watch? Genres don't answer that. "Thriller" puts Ocean's Eleven next to Prisoners, and they couldn't feel less alike.
So Cinnamon DB scores 50,000 films and 11,000 series on how they feel (how heavy, tense, warm, funny, beautiful or strange) and lets you search that way:
- The quiz: a few questions about tonight's mood, and a shortlist in under a minute.
- The sliders: pick a genre, then turn the feelings up or down.
- The mood map: every film sits next to the ones that feel like it.
- "Like ___, but…": take a film you loved and ask for the same thing, only less scary, stranger or kinder.
Every title shows where to stream it in your country. Signing in is optional: it adds lists and a release-day alert for anything on your watchlist. Generating recommendations and similarities at every page and function.
I designed it for best-in-class UX and be the absolute best way to navigate the cinematic landscape.
Honestly, there are too many functionalities to list here. It's free, with no ads. I'd love to hear what you'd want it to do next.

This is super cool! Unique and fun to explore movies and shows through the sliders feature.

@jeppss Thanks. Originally the idea was to feature a select mood based recommendation rails, but realized the way I built it you can easily just adjust the data points and so the slider feature was born and built in pretty much everywhere.

The shared Watchlist is an awesome feature!

@sebastian_bonelli Thanks. Original idea was to have favorite and watchlist and generate recommendations from there, but while testing I felt it necessary to also add list feature which went from local, sharable to joint.

@bozidar_stevanovic Thanks. As an acquisiton tool I started with a quiz and later added a shapable feature and now just the past few days the map, which I also probably like the most
