ChimeList was inspired by the frustration and inefficiency around traditional gift-giving. For many events, people still rely on informal “promise cards,” scattered text messages, or multiple registry platforms that don’t always reflect what someone truly wants. This often leads to duplicate gifts, unused items, or awkward coordination between guests. We wanted to solve the problem of disorganized and outdated event gifting by creating a simple, shareable digital wishlist that works with any online store. Instead of forcing users into a single retailer ecosystem, ChimeList allows them to add links from anywhere, making the experience flexible and modern. During the development process, our approach evolved from a simple wishlist tool into a more structured event-based platform with tiered features. Early feedback highlighted the need for group gifting, analytics, and customization, which shaped our premium plans. We also refined our monetization model to focus on per-event upgrades rather than recurring subscriptions, aligning better with how people plan and celebrate special occasions. Our goal has remained consistent: make celebrating moments easier, more organized, and more meaningful for everyone involved.
