It's a platform, not an app. Most family/household products in this space ship a fixed feature set — a shared calendar, a chore chart, a list — and iterate on it. The hub ships an operating surface: a catalog of apps that a household installs, uninstalls, and mixes. Chores, medication tracking, co-parenting agreements, HOA architectural review, and a scavenger hunt are the same kind of object to the platform. Competitors have to build each of those; the hub only has to build the contract.

The ability to make software fairly easily got me thinking about what other people might do with AI. People might want something hyper-focused to their family. Keeping track of who is responsible for stocking the pickles in the pool house. Scheduling who’s responsible for meals at the mountain house. What stories ideas have been used already for putting the kids to bed. I have no idea. I would guess we’ll get to a point where regular people can just tell the AI what they want and it will happen. But where does that live? How does it get shared with the family? So I built https://www.chickadeebandit.com/ And then I built 100+ apps that you can install and share with just your family or whoever you invite. And then realized, okay, I have my family…but what happens when me and my neighbors need a babysitting co-op. We don’t want to have to pay for another ‘household’. So it built that in as “spaces”. And then what about when the babysitter or grandma comes over and needs access. You don’t want to give them everything. So guest access was added. And made it open so others can add whatever apps they want to add.
