Hey PH! I built ChessMeris solo over the past few months because I wanted a chess tactics trainer that felt modern and actually tracked my progress properly.
Would love your feedback β especially on the AI Coach and the ELO system. What would make you come back every day?

the ai coach feedback is honestly the standout for me, getting told why a move was wrong instead of just seeing the right answer makes it stick way better. survival mode is brutal though, lost my streak in like 12 seconds.

Thanks for trying it! WHY beats WHAT every time for actually improving β that's the core philosophy. 12 seconds in Survival is respectable for a first run, it gets brutal fast π

The puzzle generator repeats a lot of the same motifs once you hit a certain rating. A spaced repetition mode that pulls from puzzles you got wrong or hesitated on would help way more than grinding 500k random ones.

Thanks for the great suggestion! Spaced repetition is actually on the roadmap β tracking hesitation time and wrong answers to build a personalized weak-spot queue.
For now the 70+ themes let you focus on specific motifs, but it's not as smart as true spaced repetition yet!

honestly the sprint mode got me hooked pretty quick, kind of addictive trying to beat my score. the ai coach feedback on each move is actually useful too

Thanks so much for the feedback! Sprint mode is designed exactly for that "one more run" feeling β really glad it landed well. And happy to hear the AI Coach feels useful too, that was the hardest part to get right!

The adaptive ELO idea is genuinely cool, but I keep wishing I could import my lichess puzzle history so it can pick up where I left off instead of retraining from scratch. Would make the jump over so much smoother for anyone with years of past mistakes already on record.

Really love this idea! Lichess puzzle history import would make the onboarding so much smoother for experienced players. It's technically feasible since Lichess has an open API, definitely going on the roadmap. Thanks for the suggestion!

The AI Coach feedback after each move is genuinely useful, not just generic "good job" stuff. Survival mode is addictive in the worst way.

Thank you! "Addictive in the worst way" is honestly the highest compliment for Survival mode π Really glad the AI Coach feels substantive β generic feedback was exactly what I wanted to avoid!
