Hi Product Hunt! I'm Spencer and recently built CheckYourList to help with my ADHD. The app lets you create repeatable checklists. It's great for packing lists, daily routines, cleaning lists and things that you need to take with you constantly. The reason it is different to apps like Apple reminders is once you complete a checklist you can uncheck every item so it is ready to be used again and again. I built the app because I found myself forgetting things more and more after the birth of my son. For example, dropping him at daycare and then going to the gym, required so many things. I felt overwhelmed and would take ages to leave the house as I searched around looking for what I needed. I wanted a solution, I built this app to help. The app is on iPhone, iPad and WatchOS. It handles syncing and storing data all through your iCloud account. You can create two checklists to try it out for free, and unlock more with an in-app purchase. Since building this app it has helped me feel less forgetful, more in control of my life, saved me a lot of time wasted backtracking for things and has stopped me worrying that I've forgotten something. I hope I can help others with and without ADHD do the same :)

I found this app kind of randomly through Hacker News and ended up really sticking with it. It’s been really helpful for me keeping my mental health stable in covid, having a list to run through every few hours keeps me much more grounded than I had felt otherwise. It’s one of those small simple apps that does something really well—if you’re struggling with staying productive with routines or getting lost in your own head, I highly recommend it :)

@sampleite Thank you for the comment :) I'm so glad the app has been working for you.

I find that ADHD people find it hard to do things consistently. Have you considered any features that will make them stick to using the app and not only download it and abandon? I wonder how your churn looks like. I'm genuinely interested since my partner has ADHD, but I don't see them using the app consistently.

@mercedesznemes I don't have any features to help with sticking to the app currently, I am planning on implementing a reminders feature soon, especially with the iOS15 changes coming in regards to focus modes (I've previously found iOS reminders useless as my phone is on Do not disturb most of the time). I'm not measuring churn currently so I can't give any insights there yet. The users I speak to who use the app seem to be sticking with it so far. I think for me personally, and my use case for the app, I have been consistently using it when I go to places like daycare, as it fits into place nicely, where if I don't use it I forget things that are important for my son, where things like habit tracking apps I've never been able to use consistently. I think everybody with ADHD is quite different, some tools work well and fit into some peoples routine, where for some people they don't. The tricky thing with ADHD is often ignoring conventional advice, and finding what works for you specifically.

@swaldy Sounds great! I'll definitely give it a shot. Good luck with the app!

As someone who constantly struggles with remembering tasks and remaining focused, this seems like it would be incredibly helpful! I love the simplicity and user-friendly design.
