ChargingAtlas puts the US Department of Energy's NREL public-charging station data - every public charger, network, and connector - onto one fast map. Search a city or use the near-me view. No app, no account. 74,890 stations, 4,334 city pages, one source: DOE/NREL. To be clear: it maps public DOE data - it's not a charging network and doesn't handle payments or live availability like PlugShare or ABRP. It also has an MCP endpoint (chargingatlas.com/mcp) so an AI assistant can query the data.
A filter for charger speed would be a great add, like showing only DC fast chargers above 150kW so road trippers can quickly find the quickest stops along their route.
Searched my city and it pulled up stations I'd never even noticed on other apps. Nice that it skips the login and just shows you what's nearby, with the DOE source right there.
honestly this is super handy, especially the MCP endpoint for AI stuff, that's genuinely clever. one thing though, it'd be really useful if you could filter by charger speed, like only showing DC fast chargers above 150kw, since a lot of the 74k stations are slow level 2 ones that aren't always worth the detour.
Clean little tool that just works. Searched my city and it pulled up stations faster than the usual apps I open, and the MCP endpoint is a nice touch for anyone piping it into an assistant.
