Subject: We got tired of robotic voices, so we built a cinema for your books. 🎬📖 Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I’m Vin, one of the makers behind CastReader. We all love the idea of audiobooks—listening while commuting or working out. But let’s be honest: standard Text-to-Speech (TTS) has always felt... lifeless. The "robots" don't understand sarcasm, they don't whisper when the villain is plotting, and they definitely don't show you the scene. We asked ourselves: What if an AI reader didn't just "read," but actually "performed"? That obsession led to CastReader. We are building the first tool that turns your PDF/EPUB library into a cinematic experience. 🚀 Why it’s different: 👀 See the Story: We don't just generate audio; we generate video. You actually see animated characters delivering their lines. 🎭 A Full Cast, Not a Narrator: Our AI assigns distinct, emotional voices to every character. You’ll instantly know who is speaking (perfect for dialogue-heavy novels). 🧠 Master the Sagas: Reading Dune or Game of Thrones? Our AI builds instant "Relationship Maps" so you never get lost in the complex web of alliances again. Whether you have ADHD, are an auditory learner, or just want to "watch" your favorite novel unfold, CastReader is for you. We are live with a generous Free Tier (web app). I’d love for you to upload your favorite book and tell me: Does it feel like magic yet? ✨ Can't wait to hear your feedback!

Hello, I wonder how this integrates with kindle books? Or other platforms
Vin Xu

@byjmlays Currently, we only support uploading PDF or EPUB files, which can directly generate audio-assisted reading. Books from other platforms are not yet supported.

Congrats on the launch! Turning books into full cinematic performances with animated characters is such a fresh take on reading. Are you planning to let users customize or edit the cast and character voices over time?

This is great! Congrats! I am working on something similar for screenplays for filmmakers and film executives to get audio and visuals for script submissions. More B2B. Can it work for screenplays? Do you have any IP issues with uploading of copyrighted works?
