Business reason for this could be to use excess material ;) Friends have a onesie startup and they started creating hoodies for dogs as a way to use the end of the fabric roll. Neil may or may not want to weigh in on this one haha

@thatmattgardner Hey Matt! We designed the dog mattress from the turf up. Our product team usually follows human centered design, but in this case dog centered design is certainly more appropriate. We worked to create the perfect dog bed with the best possible materials — the final design uses many materials that are unique to the dog bed.

does the foam absorb liquid through the cover? dogs chew and drool in dog beds, whole thing needs to be washable or cover as waterproof - but site doesn't clarify

@passingnotes Hey David. The cover is made with one of the strongest bonded microfibers available. The cover is very easy to remove for washing — simply wash in cold water on the gentle cycle and tumble dry on low.
