I built this because I enjoy drawing for relaxation, but I’m not good at it and often don’t know how to start. That blank page feeling is frustrating, and I realized many people—especially beginners and kids—feel the same way. The problem I wanted to solve was lowering the barrier to drawing so it feels approachable, playful, and rewarding instead of intimidating. At first, I focused purely on helping users start drawing, which led to features like Photo → Sketch and dotted-line guides. As I kept building and testing, my approach evolved toward not just starting, but sustaining creativity, adding things like speeddraw and, later on, turning drawings into simple animated videos so users could immediately see and share something “alive.” Throughout the launch, my process became more iterative and user-driven. I started simple, shipped early, learned from real usage, and then refined performance, UX, and features step by step. CapyDraw grew from a personal tool into a small creative companion designed to make drawing feel easy, fun, and pressure-free.
